LICENSING BILL
A LOCAL PROTEST. The following telegram was sent on Friday last to the Prime Minister from the session clerk of the St. John ’s Presbyterian Church, Hawera, in regard to the Licensing Amendment Bill now before the House:— “Members of St. John’s Presbyterian Churc-h emphatically protest against non-inelusion of two issue- ballot. paper; also proposal to increase time between licensing polls. Regret Bill contains no reform. (Sgdi) L. A. BONE, Session Clerk.” j The following reply was received from the Prime Minister:— “Your Telegram received, and representations regarding Licensing Bill duly noted for consideration. (Sgd.) J. G. COATES.”
