Glengo made his reappearance last week and, good things may be expected from this horse during the season. The recent improvements made to the Hawera training track' are much appreciated by users, and! local trainers, owners and patrons, on the eve of the Hawera Trotting Club’s annual business meeting, wish it much suce'ess for the coming season. On her racing form at the recent Metropolitan meeting Bose Bingen should not be long before success comes her way. Man-o-War was considered oi»e of, the most unlucky horses at the recent •Metropolitan meeting, Pacing in the 'big events each day lie, registered two seconds and one third. Man-o-War has not done much racing of recent years, but towards the endi of the 1924-25 season he was given a race in the Ashburton Pree-for-All, winning it in very tine style. After that lie, did a big season * around Mctliven (Canterbury). Before coming down to the Metropolitan meeting lie was given a race at the Ashburton winter meeting, but was never in tlie money. On bis showing at the Metropolitan meeting lie may bo coining back to bis old form. In all fifty-eight horses earned place money during the three days of the Metropolitan meeting. Tnlaro was the biggest money winner with £BOO, while Countryman won £6OO, Logan Lou £6OO, Peterwah £550, Money 'SphuTer £550, and Man-o-War £525.

The progeny of Logan Pointer registered seven firsts, two seconds and one third at the Metropolitan T.C. August meeting-, and .placed £2575 in stake money to his credit. Mr G. McMillan purchased the Harold Dillon mare Yenot last week. Y'enot will join the other members of Mr McMillan’s team under tlie care of the New Brighton trainer, B. Z. Berry. Logan Chief, the well-known pacinggelding, has. been) purchased, from his breeder, Mr J. Duffy, by the Belfast trainer, J. J. Kennerley. Dalnaliine was off colour at. Addington. Keep him in mind. He will win races this season. Ahuriri’s showing in the National Cup on the third day at Addington points To him being very hard in -November. Peterwah. can be written down as ono of the best straight-out trotters in New Zealand at the present time. Another horse that may come into the limelight tin’s season will be William the Great. He is well named.

Away disappointed bis connections at the August meeting. There are still other meetings to come this season. Just how good Logan Lou is is hard to say. When they let her go half-a-inile from, home, she won in a canter. This is another horse that should be worth watching in November.

,T. J. Kennerley has sold Boicole to Mr D. Spence, and lie, lias gone into O. E. Hooper’s stable. There is still very little work being done on our local course owing to the rain and the state of the trank.
