A. .promising Tech men-' rush ended when Kilpatrick ined well up, and Bui stemmed ft similar -attack a. few minutes later. School hooked beautifully from a. scrum, and just when Boon seemed away he was recalled for an infringement. A moment ft. ter the same player was well tackled by Sampson, who was playing a saFe game at hi-'l-baek. A. good run by Bui reached the Red line, and from the next movement Jakes was forced into touch-in-goal. A heavy shower made matters unpleasant for the players, and just Iwfore the spell ended .Takes failed with a penalty kick. The second spell opened with a Star invasion, which was easily checked, and then a fine line kick placed the Reds in an attacking position. A loose Star forward rush was checked by Kilpatrick. A penalty kick by Sampson missed, and ft moment later another one shared flic same fate. Then School worked their wav hack, and, from a. penalty, Kilpatrick dropped a. good goal. Good runs bv Maxwell mid Eui e,n- ---« filed Star to take the lvTTi. School were soon knocking at the dour again, being sent back by Ennis. The pressure- was maintained, however, and Sampson had to force. As the end vrew near Star made strenuous efforts to score, spending most of their time -.m Rod territory, hut the defence held. \t last- Sampson equalised the score with a good penalty kick, and time sounded a minute later.
