AFFAIRS IN INDIA.
AN EXAGGERATED- REPORT. CALCUTTA, Aug. 7. Inquiries at Simla show .that the- story of a stern note being sent by the Government of India to the Nizam of Hyderabad, charging him with corruption and maladministration, is exaggerated. It is considered likely-, however, that the British Resident at Hyderabad has been suggesting reforms :in thle police administration and a- modification -of the system under which presents are given to the Nizam.
