COOPERATIVE AGRICULTURE.

CLEARING HOUSE OF INFORMATION.

The executives of dairy factories in South. Taranaki hitve received notifications from the Horace Plunket Foundation inviting them to become members.

The foundation was originally oreated for Ireland, and its purpose was to provide complete information, primarily for the use of those who had long been engaged in the work of reorganising Irish, agriculture upon co-operative lines. The foundation embraced industrial as well as agricultural movements, and assembled literature upon economics and general subjects. Last summer the .post, of upkeep in a state of efficiency exceeded the (revenue which could' be derived from Irish sources, and, at the request of the conference' on agricultural co-operation in the British Empire, held at Wembley, it was decided to establish a clearing •house of information .in London for all agricultural organisations- in Great Britain and the colonies. The foundation says lit is in a position to provide associate members with full information on the subjects of rural development, and to act as an efficient- clearing house for particulars on co-operative agriculture. With, co-operation so highly developed in South' Taranaki, the establishment of a,n adequate clearing house in London for rural and’ dairy information would! have interest for this neighbourhood, but it is net clear that the Plunkett Foundation is yet in a position to advance this district’s understanding of efficient co-operation.
