The Franciscan Mission lias received news of the murder of the Spanish priset, Father Maiquez, by soldiers at Taolicbeng, near Sienfn, in Shensi. No further news has been heard of the missionary Moore, who was kidnapped by bandits on the 15th; hut the bandits were located near Changsha, to which the l gunboats Woodlark and Gnat were despatched. The Foreign Affairs Bureau issued, an order that every effort should be made to secure the release icf Moore. —Rbuter.
