ANOTHER, AYIN FOR PURDY. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AY ELLINGTON, Aug. 16. Charlie Purdy (Auckland) defeated Era Baxter (Australia) on points in a-n interesting bout .at the Town Hall! tonight. For part of the distance it was a, fairly even, contest, but towards the end: Purdy opened up, hitting clean and inflicting -severe punishment- on Baxter. Purdy has certainly developed a punch, and his splendid headwork caused Baxter to miss- many blows.
