EXPORT OF WINE.
NEW ZEALAND INDUSTRY AFFECTED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT Received 10 a.iu. to-day. SYDNEY, Aug. 17. The annual report presented by the Federal Viticultural Council of Australia. referring to the export of Australian wine to New Zealand, says:— “The Commonwealth Wine Export Bounty Act had a detrimental effect on the wine industry there. Tlio New Zealand Government threatened to impose a dumping duty unless payment of the bounty ceased. The Viticultural Council agreed that the bounty on sweet wines exported to New Zealand should be discontinued, one condition being that the Federal Government should allow a refund of Is fld of excise duty' paid on ail fortified wino complying with the provisions of the Vine Export Bounty Act and exported to New Zealand.”
