DANUBE OVERFLOWS
EXTENSIVE FLOODS.
IN TRANSLYVANIA THOUSAND HOUSES DESTROYED BY CABLE- -PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPIBISHT. BUCHAREST, Aug. 15. Most extensive floods have occurred owing to the overflowing of the Danube in Ga-latz and Tianssylvanian districts. Red Cross workers from Jugo-blavia report that over a thousand houses were destroyed. The floods were due to a breakdown of the general conservancy which the Hungarian and Jugo-Siavian Governments are endeavouring to revive.
