WEDDING.

GRIFFIN —SHAW.

An exceedingly pretty and interesting wedding was celebrated at St. Cuthbert’s Church, Manaia, on Wednesday, June 23, when Edith May Shaw, eldest daughter of Mr. Ben Shaw, of Manaia Road, was married to Mr. Harold Fred Griffin, second son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Griffin, South Road, Tokaora. The- Rev. A. C. Swainson was the officiating minister. The bride entered - the church on her father’s arm, to the strains of a wedding march. She was charmingly attired in a gown of ivory brocaded crepe-die-chine and a, veil held in place with orange blossoms. The bouquet was of choice flowers with tulle streamers. The two bridesmaids in attendance were Miss Elsie Griffin, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a nice frock of almond green satin, and Miss Chrissie Shaw, sister of the bride, in a frock of pink crepe-de-cliine. Each carried a posie of pink and white chrysanthemums and maiden hair fern. Mr! C. Griffin was best man, and Mr. G. Shaw groomsman. The little church was artistically decorated by friends, and an arch edged with ping and-white flowers hung over the altar. After the ceremony a reception was held at Mr. Ben Shaw’s residence, which was nicely decorated. The happy couple left for Auckland, amid showers of confetti and the good wishes of all for their future prosperity, the bride travelling in a costume of henna- tweed and hat to tone.
