The population of the uriban areas of the four cities, according to the recent census, are: Auckland 192,176 (increase 34,419). Wellington 121,324 (increase 13,836). Christchurch 118,408 (increase 12,738). Dunedin, which, hiad the advantage of exihlbition- visitors, 85,103 (increase 12,848). The only other places over 20,000 are Wanganui (26,130) and Invercargill (21,862). Auckland’s percentage of Increase is 21.82, hut New Plymouth (26.0 f) is actually highest.
