Except iiii potatoes there is practically nothing being iso'ld in the local markets, ia.ud even the tiuibers theiuselves have eased: off during the past few dd-ys, having dropped ,to the extent, of about 10s a. ton. Thus, potatoes which were worth £7 per ton tosh week for June delivery, 'are. now quoted ah about £6 10s, and for June-July 'at about- £7 ss. For July-August-iSepteniiber delivery however, the price quoted is. £7 10s, tout there its difficulty in doing business 1 'at that figure. No stuff is being solid for export to- Sydney and it tils repotted that the. mer'chants there are doing to msii ness, between theimcselveis. Farmers are not showing any inaliiiat'iioai to sell at present, toeiug content to keep their potatoes in anticipation, of a further rise in the near future. There its no change in. the market so far as oats are concerned. Chaff is inquired for ah late rates, hut seeds generally aire quiet.
