SETTLED
AUSTRALIAN COAL STRIKE. TERMS OF RESUMPTION MEN’S CLAIMS TO BE HEARD. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. SYDNEY, June 14. The compulsory conference has arrived at a settlement of the coal strike. The terms of the sett-lemenit, which have to be ratified by aggregate meetings of the men, are : “Employees to resume on the .pre-strike basis; the owners to reinstate all employees presenting themselves for work and all the collieries to resume on the same day; the owners to abandon legal proceedings against the union and* the union officials.
Mr ' Hobble* (chairman of the Coal Tribunal) stated that if these terms are agreed to he will immediately summon the Coal Tribunal to hear the men’s claims. ’ >
The owners agreed, and the employees’ representatives stated* that they would place the terms before aggregate meetings' of the l men to-mor-row (Wednesday) and- report back to the conference on Thursday. The meetings are certain to ratify the settlement, thus terminating the strike which has paralysed industry throughout the Commonwealth.
