HAWERA FIRE BRIGADE.
ANOTHER COMPETITION INAUGURATED. A competition has been inaugurated by the Hawera Volunteer Eire iJrigado for five badges presented by Superintendent A. Morrison and Motor Driver J. Blake. The trophies are handsome ones and -will be competed for in a series of monthly encounters between teams in the brigade. This will no doubt be responsible for increased efficiency of speed among the members, who have entered with spirit in the competitions. The first trial was held last Wednesday with the following results: Deputy Superintendent P. Grace, Firemen H. Hearn, L. Warner, J. Kelson, Mcßeth, 1. Time, linin. 25sec. Foreman H.
