RETURNED SOLDIERS’ BALL.

POPULAR! ANNUAL FUNCTION. Since its inauguration seven yeans ago the animal reunion ball held under the auspices of the Hawera Returned Soldiers’ Association has proved most popular, and this year’s lunction, which will be held in the Winter Show Hall to-morrow evening, is anticipated to exceed, all previous successes. A large and enthusiastic committee lias been busy for some considerable time, and everything is. in readiness. A feature will be the decoration of the hall and supper-room, which is being done under the direction of Mrs. J. S. Lovell. The Women’s National Reserve has again co-operated by taking charge of the supper arrangements, and music will be supplied by McDonald’s orchestra (seven instruments). The Mayoress (Mrs. Tv. A. Pacey) and Mesdnmes J. R.. Corrigan and Lovell have kindly consented to act as chaperones. ft is confidently expected that there will be a large attendance, this function acting as a grand finale to the holiday’s sport.
