Sir Burton Chadwick, under-secretary to the Board of Trade, in reply to a question, said that the amount of rebate during 1924 on preferential imports into Australia was £7,700,000, representing 12 per cent, of value. Other approximate preferences were:—South Africa £BOO,OOO, Canada £2.250,000, New Zealand £2,500,000. The figures for 1925 are not available.
