In the town an extensive .scheme for decorations; iha.s been launched' and to-day Messrs Benire.t.t and Hooker completed arrangements for a liberal supply of greenery, which is to be erected in various parts of .the town two dlays prior to the show. It is hoped that (business men mil reciprocate by adopting a scheme of coloured light decorations. Tlhe window-dressing competitions are taking practical shape, entries are coming in and .several new events have been added. At the sliow arrangements have been rpade for very large and striking exhibits by Railway Publicity and Forestry Departments, and these will be of an exceptionally high .standard. The Hawetia Poultry Society is expecting to have large exhibits, and.' ■ rrangements were completed last n*. for tlia society to take over once more 'all the .work of staging exhibits. The Acdlimatiisation Society will, as usual, make la. big display and the interest created by this in the- past will be amply upheld this year.. Gorreispondenee was received at tlhe .meeting .concerning the farmers’ exeunsio'ii from the Waikato, which will arrive from that district on the day after the opening of the show land visitors will (have two full dlarvis here. Circular letters to. the number of 10.000 have been sent to Mr. Welch, the De-in-aiiitmenib’if) commercial agent in Auckland. for distribution to the suppliers of factories in the Waikato, and .a large number of visitors, a.re l expected.
