BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. PARIS, May 19. M. Peret informed pressmen that he visited the President, M. Doumergue and conferred with M. Briand and the governor and directors of- the Bank of France. They had agreed to certain measures to restore the franc as soon as possible, but these measures, to he effective, must be kept a secret. His conversations with the British Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Winston Churchill, were only adjourned. They were seeking a compromise and he would return to London as early as possible. *
