'Hie last session of the House of Representatives in Melbourne, before the removal to Canberra, lias commenced.

The Prime Minister (Mr. S. AL Bruce) gave notice of bis intention t-o introduce to-morrow a Bill lor an alteration of the constitution .in regard to industrial legislation, anti another Bill to alter the constitution in regard to essential services. Although the Federal Government’s decision to seek further powers to deal with industrial matters was well known, its intention to seek control over essential services surprised the House, nml it is anticipated it will be bitterly contested by the opposition.
