MOKOIA SETTLERS’ ASSN.
SPORTS AIEETING. Everything is in readiness for the annual sports gathering to be held at Alokoia to-morrow, and, provided the weather is favourable, a record attendance is anticipated. Entries in . each event are very satisfactory and. good finishes should result. Air 0. H. Washer is judging the horse events, and the leaping competitions are creating much interest, especially the open event for the Bennett and Sutton Cup. The seven-a-side football tournament should prove very attractive, 1 as the entries received are ahead of last year’s, and from teams spread all over Taranaki. The ladies have the catering arrangements well in hand, and the public can rely on providing for the inner man in a substantial manner at moderate rates. The paddock is beautifully sheltered, and a splendid day’s outing is offered to all.
