HITCH IN NEGOTIATIONS. STRIKE NOTICES NOT WITHDRAWN. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION- copyright. SYDNEY, May 5. Apparently .a hitch occurred in connection with, the hoped for settlement in the engineering dispute, A deputation, from the Federation of Engineers interviewed the Minister for Labour in camera to-day and discussed the position. After the interview the Minister declined that there .should be a further interview to-morrow. Mr. Gibson, .secretary of the- Engineers’ Society, however, said the position .remained unchanged, and the men’s, notices to cease work on Saturday still .stood. The dispute at Lithgow iron works owing to the .men absenting themselves on May Day, has been settled, and the men resume to-moirrow.' /
