At tho wool sales there was an average selection of merinos, with a limited supply of crossbreds. Competition was well" maintained, with the prices unchanged. New Zealand sales : Langbridge 201 d, 19id, Cloudy Range IDid, 18ci Bradford, tops market slioaed little response to London firmness, and new business was small. Sixty-fours -17-1 cl, sixties 44d, fifty-sixes *32d, fifties 2od, forty-sixes 21J<1, forties 201 d. DAIRY PRODUCE QUOTATIONS. LONDON, April 29. The butter market is stow and easiei, buyers only filling immediate requirements, owing to the increasing Luiopean production. Now Zealand choicest, .salted and unsalted, are quoted at 170 s; Australian salted at loos, with unsalted at 168 s; and Danish at 174 d. . . , - T The cheese market is quiet. fSew Zealand white and coloured is quoted at 925, and Australian coloured at 90s. DAIRY PRODUCE. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. reports having received- the following cablegram, from its London house, under date 28th inst. Rutter.—New Zealand choicest 1/Os to 1725; very slow. Australian, 168 s. Danish, 1765. , r . , Cheese. —92s to 945. Market is quiet.

FARMERS’ CO-OP. REPORT
The Farmers’ Co-op. Organisation Society of New Zealand, Ltd., reports »°r the week ending May 1, as follows: With the rain of the past week there has been a noticeable hardening, of prices on store and young cattle, ouyers being more confident, and the demand being better all round. At Tlawera yards on Thursday time was again a good, entry, and everything sold- at the hammer. Fat stock is scarce, and good, cows have improved each sale of late. We quote: Good porkers, £1 10s to £2; store pigs, £J ; weaners Us 6d to 16s; fat cows, £b 4s ; do. lighter, £5; good forward cows, £3 15s to £4 7s; store cows, £2 10s to £3 10s; old cows, £1 to £2; bulls, to £4 15s; Jersey weaner heifers, r uor quality, 15s to £1 ss; dairy cows at profit, £6 5s to £7. All classes of sheep are seizing well, particularly lambs. A good line of store lambs' made 15s 2d; mixed 2-tooths, small, 17s; line •of fairly good ewes r.w. S.D. rams, £1 2s 6d; good totaira posts, 3s. At Waverley yards on Friday, 30th, there was a. good entry. Buyers were in attendance and everything sold at the hammer after a brisk sale,, lambs being well competed for, also a nice line of young P.A. cattle. We quote: Good mouth ewesi r.w'.b.f. rams, £1 Is; empty ewes. 15s; fat lambs, £1; on account Mr F. Pearce, line of good ewe lambs, 16s 6d; wether lambs 14s 6d; cull lambs, 9s; pen of prime fat cows, £7 15s ; fat cows, £5 10s to £6 17s. 6d ; store and forward cows, £1 10s to £3; 4 and 5-year bullocks, forward condition. £8 ss. Nice line of Shorthorn weaner steers, well grown, £2; line of P.A. 20 months steers. £4 2s 6d, 1 .A. heifers same age, £3 ss; Jersey dairy heifer, close to profit, £7 12s 6d During this week w'e have purchased to the order of Mr Elliott, Kai Iwi, three fine pedigree Jersey bulls from the herd of Mr J. S. T. Short, Okaiawa, and Mr V. W. Nowell, Haweira. “Grand View Earl.” a two-year from Mr Short’s herd, carries some of the most noted imported blood, such as “Lord Twvlish” and “Molina General,” and many others. The selection from Mr Nowell’s herd 1 also carries some of the best obtainable strains.
