Archdeacon Clherrington, of Mauritius. was unanimously elected Bishop of Waikato a.t this week’s Synod. _ He has now? signified his acceptance ot the office. The Ven. Cecil A-it-hur Cher-rington, Dishop-electb of Waikato, is a graduate of London University and was ordained deacon in 1896 and priest in 1897. He filled curacies at Sit-. Chad’-s Efverton, and .at- Haigh and was fo.r lour years cu-rate of AIL Saints. Oxiton, and chaplain of Birkenhead School. He subsequently served in the Diocese of iXseaifer, and later became attached to Lichfield Cathedral, being domestic chaplain to the Bishop of Lichfield. Ten or twelve- years ago he became Vicar of Tu install, in the -potteries district, and in 1922 he went to- Mauri-tus.
