FARMERS’ CO-OP.
FAREWELL TO MR R. C. FERGUSON A fareivell function Avas held and a presentation made to Mr R. C. Ferguson last night by the staffs of the Farmers’ Co-op. on the eA'e of his seA r ering his connection with the firm, of Avhose motor garage business lie has been manager for about seA'en years, in addition to three years more on the head, office staff. Mr C. G. Trotter,, assistant general manager, presided over an attendance of about fifty, and several apologies were read.' After the toast of His Majesty had been given, the health of the guest of the eA-ening Avas honoured with enthusiasm and many references made to the high esteem in which lie Avas held and the regret felt by all at liis departure, after having worthily earned the goodAvill of his felloAv officers and of the citizens of the toAvn. He Av,as then presented with a fine traA Telling rug as a mark of esteem. Mr Ferguson briefly acknowledged the many kind things said of him and cordially acknowledged the great loyalty shoAvn by members of the staff. Avhom lie heartily thanked far all their help to him in his department. Other toasts honoured Avere the “‘Motor Industry,” “The Ladies” and “The Chairman.”
During the eA r enings songs Avere given by Miss Cook (HaAvera), Miss Wilkie (Stratford), Messrs McQuinn, Mee and Moss, and a recitation by Miss M. Ekdalil. There was also community singing of popular airs. The accompaniments Avere played by Mr J. Nicholson 1 , avlio also played for a feAv dances Avhich AV'-ere enjoyed before the function closed.
