CINEMA CAMERA ON EGMONT.

PICTURES FROM THE SUMMIT. WELLINGTON PHOTOGRAPHER ’S CLIMB. Amongst recent visitors at Dawson Falls House was Mr H. Moult, of Wei lington, accompanied by Messrs J. W. Jones and J. W. Pickles, members of the Tararua Tramping Club. On Saturday last, Mr Jones, accompanied by Guide W. A. White, ascended the mountain', taking with him two cinema machines. The route taken was via Fantliam’s Peak to the main ridge, crossing over to Maekay Rocks, and from there into the crater; thence, after cutting steps up 30Cft of ice, to the trig station. Leaving there, the pair climbed to the top of the Shark’s Tooth, returning to the hostel by the Opunake side and Fantham’s Peak. Mr Jones operated the machine, taking panoramic views of the surrounding districts, this being, it is claimed, the first occasion that moving pictures have been taken from the summit of Mt. Egmont. The trip took from 8 a.in. until 3.30 p.m.
