Although his opponent is regarded as the weakest competitor, Shailer was disappointing in his first 13 visits to the table. With many chances to score, he only obtained 24 against Ruthledge’s* 103. Shailer improved later, mainly on losing hazards, and averaged 12. —A. and N.Z. Assn.
