PEKIN EVACUATED.
PRESIDENT RESUMES DUTIES. TALK OF CONVENING PARLIAMENT. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT. PEKING, April 17. The evacuation of Peking by the Kuo-Min Chun troops ha® been completed, and the Chinese allies are to enter the city to-day. It i.s expected that Parliament wi.J be. convened immediately, with Yen-Kunv-Chu (Minister of Communications) as Premier and Dr. Wellington Koo as Foreign Minister, but plans m this connection are subject to'the approval of Marshal Ohang-Tso-Lin, the Manchurian leader. The Nationalist commander gave control to General Wang-Shih-Ohien, who telegraphed to the allied leaders that there was no need to besiege the capital. Present indications are that Kuo-Mi.n-Ohun troops, "null not halt before reaching the Nankau Pas's, north of Peking, which is now threatened by a Manchurian column, which fought fiercely at Fengtai until the .afternoon, when it retreated. t The foreign quarters are crammed with Chinese treasures and the hotels and l foreign buildings are crowded with pan ic-strieken refugees. The President, Tuan-Ohi-Jui, who took refuge in a legation, has returned to the Presidential palace and rehis official functions,
