MATAPU.
(From Our Own Correspondent). The ‘ 1 Cheese-punchers ’ Ball’’ held last week was a great success, although no doubt the unfavourable weather prevented many from coming. The music was excellent and' the floor in good order. Prizes for waltzing went to Mr J. Thompson and partner, and for the spot dance to Mr R. Gilrough and partner. The mulic was supplied by Mr K. Sharp’s , orchestra, and extras were played! by Miss G. Miekleson. A ladies ’ -committee supervised the decorations of the hall' and the -supper arrangements, and, in both were very successful. The. third assistant at the school, Miss J. Musk-er, has been transferred to Martinborough (Wairarapa), and as the attendance has fallen somewhat, her place will not be filled. Amongst the visitors to Wellington during Easter were Mr and Mrs .T. O’Sullivan, whose daughter is attending school in* the Empire City.
