POPULAR CITIZENS.

HONOURING MR AND MRS GILL ANDERS. SOCIAL THIS EVENING. In order to recognise the good work done for the town and district by Mr F. Gillanders for many years, a social will be held this evening in the Sav.oy Rooms, at which presentations will be made to him and to Mrs Gillanders. Speeches will be made by the Mayor (Mr E. A. Pacey) and Mr H. G. Dickie, M.P. There will also be a short programme of musical and elocutioriary items, and before the close light * refreshments will be served. Tickets may be secured from Mr L. 0. Hooker,- lion, secretary, or any member of the committee. It is expected there will be a-large attendance.
