Motions were carried as under: — With reference to the appointment of referees: That it be a recommendation to the various Rugby Unions that, in making appointments'for interprovincial matches, these be 1 made by an appointment board in the district where the matches are to be played. With regard to local matches: That the appointment of referees for ordinary championship matches should be made by an appointment committee consisting entirely of referees. It was decided to hold the next conference in the Wairarapa, either at Masterton or Carterton.

Mr D. McKenzie (Wellington) was re-elected president. Rulings were given on a number of specific eases quoted by several associations.

The most outstanding of these were that the advantage rule applies, in the case of a. throw in from touch; that the signal to indicate that no goal has been kicked be deleted; that in all kicks at goal the referee shall consult his touch judges only when in doubt.
