PATE A BEATS MANAIA. V (Erom Our Manaia Correspondent.) A croquet match played at Pate a on Friday between Manaia and Patea resulted in a decided win by the home team. . The visitors were hospitably entertained. and a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting day was spent, hollowing were the scores, Manaia players being given first in each case : Doubles.—Mr J. Clague and Mrs J. S McKay 3 v. Mr Horner and Mrs Masters 26; Mrs W. Snowdon and Mrs R. Donald 20 v. Mrs Glenuy and Mrs Horner 26. Singles.—Mr Clague 3 v. Mr Horner 26- Mrs McKav 5 v. Mrs Masters 26; Mrs Snowdon 7‘v. Mrs Glenny 26; Mrs Donald 13 v. Mrs Horner 26. Totals. —Manaia. 0 games, 51 points; Patea. 6 games, 156 points.
KAPONGA r. MANAIA. j,
On Saturday last four players of the Kaponga Club visited Manaia, and a friendly match was played. A pleasant afternoon was spent on the lawns, doubles only being played. The following took part, Kaponga players being mentioned first: Mesdames Tait and Dawson 12 v. Mrs Meuli and Miss Stoddart 26: Mesdames Brewer and Hislop 13 v. Mesdames < Hastie and Howard 26. Kaponga gained 25 points and Manaia 52.
