RESERVOIR BURSTS.

The wall of 1 a reservoir at West Hobart crumbled under the pressure of half a million gallons of water, which poured down the slopes of Alount Knocklofty, carrying with it huge stones and debris. It swept down, and finally expended itself in the basin of the city, flooding houses and doing a great deal of minor damage. There were no casualties, but there were many narrow escapes.
