SCHOOL JUBILEE. GARDEN PARTY TO BE HELD. PREPARATIONS FOR CELEBRATION. (From Our Own Correspondent). There was a good attendance at the meeting held last night for the purpose of deciding what steps should be taken to celebrate the jubilee of the Normanby School. The chairman of the committee, Mr E. Grant, occupied the chair. It was resolved that all' present should be formed into a committee, and an executive committee, consisting of Messrs Grant, W. Gane, A. Paine, R. Anstis and Mesdames Gane, Grant and Franklyn was appointed. Messrs Grant and Payne were appointed joint secretaries. After considerable discussion, it was resolved to hold, a garden party in the school grounds on. the afternoon of April 22. a concert and dance to be held in the Town Ha ll in the evening. Notices inviting all ex-pupils to be present .will 'be published. Invitations will be extended to the Hoh. O. J. Ha when (Minister for Agriculture), the Minister of Education, members of the Taranaki Education Board, tlie Mayor of Hawera (Mr E. A. Pacey), the headmaster of the Hawera High School (Mr A. Gray), and teachers and chairmen of school committees in South Taranaki. A meeting of the executive .will be held next Tuesday evening.
