Splendid weather prevailed tor the Northland Trotting Cilub’s meeting yesterday, and there was a large attendance/ The track was very hard in consequence of the -protracted dry spell. The totalisator handled £11,781 10s, compared with £9240 last year. Results : Whangairei Handicap, one mile and three-quarters.—Sweet Memory 1, Elsa Nore 2, Peter MacDonald 3. All -started. Won ib-y six lengths-, lime, 4.26. Dargavi-lle Handicap, one mile -and a half. —Nazimoiva 1,, Marionette 2, Surveyor 3. All .started. Won by two lengths. Time, 3.44. Noi'thlaind Trotting Cup, two miles. — Rockbum 1, Delavan Bill 2, Buz Buz 3. Scratched: Grey Peter. Won by a length, lime, 4.42 2-5. TIMARU, March 13. The autumn meeting of the Timaru Trotting dub was lieild to-day. The weather in the morning was threatening, but the rain held off and the meeting was concluded under favourable conditions. The course was -in excellent order and there- was a large attendance of the public. There was an, increase -in the totalisator investments to £19,635' 10s, compared with £17,441 on the second day of the two day meeting last year. Results: - Kingsdo-wn Handicap (saddle), one mile and a half.—l Engagement 1, 3 Wee Patch 2, H Huia Son 3. Won by a- length, with ten lengths -between second .and third. Time, 3.38 3-5.
