OTTAWA, March 12. The Hon. Mr Robb, Minister of Finance, told a delegation representing the retail trade at the Bureau of Canada today that the Government hoped to continue the income tax by a process of enlarging exemptions, particularly in favour of those who had served overseas. The delegation asked that the present, tax be abolished on the grounds that it. ‘ ‘ not only is confiscating the capital required to extend our industries, but it is frightening capital out of industry and preventing new investments. ”
