Sideshow competitions which added to the general attraction of the Matapu Fayre yesterday resulted as follows (winners being residents of Matapu except where otherwise shown); Thermos flask won by Mr. Pinson (Hawer), stainless knives, F. Purser (Hawera); billy of tea, L. Jurd; canary in cage, • W. Carper; box of chocolates, Erie Spinson ; 501 b bag flour, W Rowlands; sack of potatoes, L. Scott.; fucking pig, P. Henry; sheep-guessing, J. Naught-on: set of horse shoes, M. Petty; Mr. O’Sullivan’s special, M. Petty.
