MANAIA TOWN BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. (From Our Own Cor responednt). Tli©'monthly meeting of the Manaia Town Board was held on Thursday evening, when there were present:Commissioner J. Hickey (chair), S. Greaves, Y. H. Hobday, N. Innes, H. Mead, and J. A. G. -Cosgrove. The chairman (Commissioner L. J. Nielson) was granted leave of absence. A deputation, consisting of Messrs J. E. Ward, G. H. Meuli and R. S. F. Craig, representing the Swimming Baths Committee, waited on the Board asking for a site on which swimming baths could be erected. The board decided to grant a, suitable •site for the baths, the question of the position to be he’d in abeyance for the tim e being. The chairman and Commissioner Hickey were appointed to represent the board at the coplimentary banquet being tendered to the Hon. 0. J. Hawken at Eltham. Subsidies were granted as follows: £2 to- the Egmont National Park and £‘2o to the Manaia. Fire Brigade. The question of repairs to the bandroom was left in the hands of the chairman, with power to act. It was decided to impose a, penalty of 10 per cent, on all rates outstanding on MfJk'cli 26. and that summonses be issued for the total amount.
