ROTARY CLUB.
ANNUA \, ELECTION. At, tb' weekly luncheon of Hawera Rotary Club to-day. the hon. secretary (Mr 'f. .1. Salmon) reported, a. very successful first year of the club. Officers were elected for the coming year as below —President, Mr B. McCarthy; vice-president. Mr T. .1. Salmon; hon. secretary, Mr C. S. Suisted; committee, Dr. Buist, Messrs P. Bond, f, A. Da'getty arid F. C. Spratt. Mr To A. Bone, who has been away on a trip to North. Auckland, Waikato, and Hawke(s Bay, gave a very interesting account of all he saw. He found the country in parts very dry, and suffering from the want of rain,. He was at Russell, and said that there were numbers of wealthy tourists from abroad there. All appeared to be en-,-ing the life there with its boating apd fishing. •
