GERMAN CAPITAL AND THAMES ORES. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) THAMES, Fob. 20. Considerable indignation is expressed here at remarks made by the Canterbury Industrial Association regarding the possibility of Gorman capital being used to exploit refractory ores. - It is pointed out that local people have done their utmost in the interest of New Zealand and British capital to develop these deposits, but without success. The bodies of ore aTC so vast that it is not likely the Germans could secure a monopoly. If their operations are successful, there is no reason why British capital should not start rival companies. Also, it is considered unnecessary. to place obstacles in the way of developing what may become a very large and payable industry. It is suggested that Sir Frank Heath, the industrial research expert at present visiting the Dominion, be asked for an opinion. OTOROHANGA SUICIDE TE KUITI, Feb. 20.
