DUNEDIN, Feb. 20. The attendance at the exhibition this morning .stood at 1,666,498. , There is a noticeable influx ox visitors to the city in anticipation or e brass and pipe band contest,, which ‘begins this afternoon. Forty-eight bands from all part of the Dominion are competing, justifying the claim that it, will be the biggest contest of its kind yet held in New Zealand. The bands should make a good showing when they muster in the Octagon at one o’clock. they will march through the city to the exhibition by way of the new highway, and then proceed with B_ grade quickstep competition, for which fourteen bands have entered.
