SENTENCES AT NEiW PLYMOUTH
(BY TF.T.F.GR APH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) , • NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 19. At' the Supreme Court, William .Sydney Stroud was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention; Leonard Edward Smith was ordered two years at the Borstal Institute, and John Berge ivas given three years’ probation and ordered to pay £ls towards the costs of the prosecution. All the three men were up on charges of breaking, entering, and theft. John Stephen Keegan, who was ordered in 1924 to come up for sentence if called upon, was given two years’ probation. Alfred Stevens, for obtaining credit by fraud, was ordered two years’ reformative detention.
Wae Inaa, for breaking, entering, and forgery, was sent to the Borstal Institute for a period not exceeding three years.
Amos Edward John Williamson, for attempted carnal knowledge and indecent assault, was sentenced to five years’ hard labour.
