'Hie New .Era. Art Silk Co. is erecfcing a factory at St. Helen’s, Lancashire, which will manufacture one ton of staple fibre of artificial wool daily and capable of increasing the production if) accordance with the demand. 'Hie makers assert that their product is incomparably finer than sniafii and will be much used by woollen cotton manufacturers. Bradford reports that the new artificial wool may be of great service in the making of blanket.and flannel, which industries have been depressed. The new development may bring prosperity bring prosperity and cheapen the cotits. Yorkshire wool combers are particularly interested, because at present- there is insufficient work to go round, and they are anxious to keep their machinery going.—Sydney Sun Gable.
