FRENCH NAVAL OFFICERS AT PALMERSTON. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) PALMERSTON N. t Feb. 12. Th r e officers from the French sloop Cassioppee arrived in- Palmerston North from Wellington to-day, and were the guests <>l local Ixidies. being entertained at luncheon, the Mayor, Mr Nathan, presiding. They were afterwards taken on a tour oi the town and environs, returning to- Wellington in the afternoon.
