At t-lie Supreme Court at Wanganui on Wednesday, Violet Winifred Buckland (Mr. Louis Cohen) petitioned for a dissolution of her marriage with Alfred Reuben Buekland, reports the HerThe parties were married in Hawera in 1315, and there were two ehldren of the marriage. Petitioner isaid t-hat her husband left her when it was time for him to go to the- war. He did not leave New Zealand. The. parties had lived together in Hawera, but witness now lived with her parents in .Patea. His Honor: Has your husband ever been -back to Hawera? —No. Where is he now?—l don’t know. Mr. Cohen pointed out that the_ respondent had been served in Wellington. . ..... Edward T. Mercer, cousin of the petitioner, stated that when the respondent was called up he “did a hike to the bush,” and left the petitioner and her two children. He had not returned to them since. His Honor observed that the case was an unusual one, although it seemed to come within the Act. A decree nisi was granted, to be moved absolute after the expiration of three calendar months Interim custody of the two children was given the petitioner, and costs were -allowed on the lower scale.
