EXPORTS AND IMPORTS.
BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Feb. 11. The Board of Trade returns show that the value of imports for January decreased by £1119.238,000 as compared with January, 1925. The principal items of' the decrease were: —Raw cotton, £9,621,000; wood and _timbe,r, IT, 198,000; oil and seeds, £1,477,000. Exports decreased by £8,670,000, mainly through the falling off in coal to the extent of £887,000. The value of raw wool declined by £692,001; cotton yarns, and manufacturers, £3,209,000; woollen, worsted yarns and manu- ; facturers,, £1,215,000. The only notab'e increases were in the following items: —Among the imports: Rubber. £3.582,000; non-ferrous metals and manufactures, £1,126,000. The value of ,re-exports of colonial and foreign products decreased by £1,541,000. —A. X.Z. Assn.
