BRITAIN’S BIRTH RATE.
LOWEST IN THE WORLD. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received Feb. 5, 2.45 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 4. Britain’s birth rate of 18.3 per 1000 is the lowest in the world. The rate for marriages is unchanged, but families are a quarter smaller than in 1913, principallv through malnutrition and birth control. The death rate is 12.2 per 1000.
