The Primq- Minister (Mr Stanley Baldwin), in a -speech at the Unionist Association dinner in London, said that unlens great ocoom.ies were -secured an increase in taxation this year «»r next, whatever Government is' in power, will he inevitable. The Premier thankfully noted the hopeful .signs of trade improvement. He declared, however, that economies must be made involving sacrifices not only of luxuries but also of things almost in the category of necessities. Mr. Baldwin -stated that the eyes of their opponents- were fixed more on spending than on saving, and the Government would need the .stoutest support of all its. friends on -both sides.
