PLUNKET SHIELD MATCH. WELLINGTON v. OTAGO. (BY TELEGIIAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, Jan. 22. A cricket match for the Plunket Bvhield, Wellington v. Otago, commenced on Carisbrook ground this morning. The weather was fine, but a nor’-easter swept the ground. The visitors won the toss, taking first strike on a perfect wicket. The game ooened sensationally, Dickinson “yorking” Collins first ball. Both Torrance and Dickinson kept Kortlang and Hiddleston quiet, the first runs coming after 12 minutes play. Hiddleston was badly missed in the slips off Dickinson when 23. An hour’s play produced 38 runs.
