RECENT SEAMEN’S STRIKE.
COST TO MELBOURNE UNION. by CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received Jan. 22, 12.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 22. At a special meeting of the Seamen’s Union, it was stated that an audit of the funds of the Melbourne branch disclosed a shortage of nearly £2OOO, principally in consequence of the branch having guaranteed the cost of catering for the striking British seamen.
