Although heavy rain showers this morning, following extraordinarily heavy rain overnight, made matters unpleasant at Trentham, trainers were well pleased, for the tracks were in excellent order for galloping. The outside of the trial grass was in general use. Black Cat was not doing her best to run six furlongs in 1.18 3-5. Modern was much too good for Misgovern in a gallop over seven furlongs in 1.33 3-5. Kilperon was holding Gleninnes at the e?id of a sprint over half a mile in 52sec. Star Ranger (F. Goldhro) finished in front of Grand Knight (R. Reed) in a gallop over nine furlongs in 1.58 3-5. the last mile taking 1.44 3-5. Star Ranger, who had the advantage in weight, finished hotter than his companion . Joy Bird pleased by dashing over half a mile in 49 l-ssee. Indian Sage and Nadarino finished on terms at the end of six furlongs in 1.17 3-5. Royal Divorce and Fool’s Paradise set out to gallop a mile, which was accomplished by Roval Divorce in 1.47 1-5. the first half-mile taking 52sec. Something went amiss with the gear on Fool’s Paradise, and he wss pulled up in the last furlong. Royal Divorce hit out a good deal better on the grass .than he has been doing on the tan track. Inoe and Morning Gift ran down from the five furlong post in 1.7 3-5, the last half-mile in 52sec. Minotus dashed over three furlongs in 39sec. Vivo took 50 3-ssec for a half-mile sprint, a very fair effort. Peggy Ford was too good for Royal Pointer in a sallon over six furlongs, which took 1.18 1-5. Ilka, picked up hv Snsam at the halfmile post, galloped five furlongs in 1.1 4-5. a smart effort. Orchid dashed over half a mile in 48sec. the last three furlongs taking 36sec. the best sprint of the morning. Note and Vertigern were well clear of Climax in a sprint from the three furlong post in 36 l-ssec. M«tu and Axle took 1.504 to gallop a mile. Tresham finished in front of Tanadees in a mile gallop, run in 1.45 4-5, the fir«t half-mile taking 52sec. Lic-inius and Agitato were both going verv freelv at the end of a gallop over half a mile in 49 4-sseo. Licinius. who looks and galloped well, will he ridden hv C. Eastwood in the Telegraph Handicap. Pleasant Surprise and Idanoe galloped halt a mile in 52 2-sseo. J. H. Jefferd is expected to-day with | Star Stranger, Mimetic and Gauntlet.
